Maria Ignacia Miranda Santis

Maria Ignacia Miranda Santis was born and raised in Chile and moved to the U.S. in 2006. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) with a B.A. in International Studies, Political Science, and a minor in Spanish. She was a Community Organizer and the Field Manager developing and implementing community outreach strategies to engage the Latinx community at the Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR). She was also the Program and Outreach Manager at Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE) where she created and implemented a leadership development program that supported the growth of fellows, interns, volunteers, and activists to organize their communities for environmental health. She is currently working on a master's degree in International Human Rights with a focus on Global Health Affairs at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. She wants to continue to work in the reproductive health field to make sure women across the globe have access to the reproductive healthcare services and resources they need and want.

Mariam Rauf

Mariam Rauf is a New York based advocate and consultant on gender and racial equity, cultural humility, and trauma. Having occupied multiple roles in the for-profit and non-profit worlds, as well as with the federal government, Mariam advises organizations on intersectional approaches to program development, training, and outreach. With curated experience working with immigrant communities in particular, Mariam is committed to addressing challenges faced by people outside of mainstream society, while raising awareness of cultural humility and competency in social justice spaces. She brings empathy, leadership, and innovation to create support systems, paired with informed perspectives and thoughtful approaches to complex societal and cultural challenges.

Clara Lee

Clara Lee is a proud Korean mother of a transgender, bisexual son. She is the founder of the API Rainbow Parents of PFLAG NYC chapter, a group providing support for LGBTQ individuals and families of Asian heritage. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the PFLAG NYC chapter. Clara is passionate about supporting and advocating for LGBTQ youths specifically to prevent bullying, suicide and homelessness. She believes in the importance of improving LGBTQ equality in homelands and faith groups to create better acceptance to LGBTQ individuals within the API communities. Clara conducted and spoke in many workshops and events across US, Japan and Korea on such topics.

 

Kristen Payne

Kristen Payne, a graduate of Iliff with a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics (MASJE), has been working for the Center for Employment Opportunities, a mission-drive nonprofit serving formerly incarcerated individuals with a person-centered approach since 2020. While working in direct service for this organization, she has also co-created content for ground-breaking diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and trainings, and facilitating difficult conversations. She has also spent time volunteering for Denver’s Soul 2 Soul Sister’s Facing Racism programming and served as President to her son’s middle school PTA helping to bring ADL’s No Place for Hate programming into the school. She believes raising her son to be aware of his privilege and shaped by experiences that are sometimes uncomfortable to be the greatest honor of her life. Kristen spends much of her free time outdoors hiking with their dog, Pixel, biking the trails and skiing down the slopes.
