Social Entrepreneurship

How can nonprofit organizations raise funds without having to beg their donors or start a fundraiser? How can they find regular income to pay for a project, staff member, and/or the overhead? This is the challenge that Platform’s roundtable on social entrepreneurship plans to tackle. We want to explore three distinct models of producing capital for small nonprofit organizations:

To carefully study these models and develop a tool kit, we have organized a “think tank” - a group of creative social entrepreneurs, businesswomen, nonprofit organizers, and women in marketing. While the roundtable is by invitation only, the tool kit will be made available to anyone who is interested in venturing into social entrepreneurship at a small cost. We at Platform are excited because we get the opportunity to help small organizations realize visions of social justice for their communities.
